LR091360 is a Rear Door Latch. Fitted to the rear door lock controls on Discovery 4 (L319) vehicles, this latch receives the door striker and retains the rear door in the closed position under normal vehicle loading and movement. The latch contains the mechanical pawl and release elements which interact with interior and exterior release linkages or an electronic actuator inside the lock control assembly; when released by a handle or the lock control, the pawl decouples from the striker to allow the door to open. The latch also interfaces with the door's locking mechanism and forms the primary mechanical retention point between the door and body.
