LHP10015L is a manual-adjustment timing belt tensioner for 1.8 K-Series petrol engines fitted without an automatic tensioner. Fitted to the Freelander 1 timing system, the unit sets and holds the correct belt tension to maintain accurate camshaft timing relative to the crankshaft. Manual tensioners use an adjustable mounting or threaded adjuster that is set during installation and then locked to prevent movement; correct belt tension prevents excessive slack and limits premature wear of the belt and related timing components.
