Fitted within the steering column of 2.2 Puma diesel Defender models, this switch controls the ignition and starter circuits and provides the common key positions for accessory, run and start. Faulty or worn contacts can cause intermittent starter operation, loss of accessories when the key is turned, or failure to crank; replacement restores consistent ignition and starter control. Technicians will fit the switch into the column switch housing and connect the matching wiring harness - confirm the key barrel and switch match the vehicle specification before installation.
